Buzzing Texas artist Trae Cane links with G.O.O.D Music’s latest signee, Valee.

traevaleeBubbling Texas artist Trae Cane returns to our pages with a bang. This time linking with Chicago’s own and new G.O.O.D music signee Valee for a vibe heavy record titled “Heard Of”. While in Chicago this summer shooting his “On My Own” video with Cole Bennett,Trae had his team reach out to Valee to see if they could make a play. A few hours after Valee’s show that night they linked at Classick Studios and got to work.

The Steelo Foreign produced record gets you hooked off the jump. The Texas producer has worked with plenty of big names and now adds Valee to the list as his production keeps getting better and more refined. The bass and 808’s bang, but the synth provides a nice laid back feel making this a perfect record for the whip (skrrt off).

Trae Cane sets the tone, both verses are nice and smooth and gets you hooked with lavish references and plenty of designer name drops as Valee comes in for the second verse and does his thing. Trae Cane announced today he is dropping his debut full length album Holograms on March 1st with some major features from Yung Bambi, Billyracxx, Baby Guwop, and more. Stay tuned for more, and make sure to listen below and let us know what you think. Follow Trae Cane on Spotify here.

SWIDLIFE presents “Ascension” featuring TRAECANE, BILLYRACXX, XANSOLEAUX + more

Screen Shot 2017-08-25 at 9.25.31 PM

As if the music weekend couldn’t get any better, our homies over at SWIDLIFE dropped their 1st curated mixtape and it’s full of some of the best underground sounds in the game. SWIDLIFE is one of the best platforms shining light on some of the best, most slept on artists. The 8 track mixtape titled Ascension pegs some major Texas heat too. Here are the tracks that standout to me the most.

Billyracxx & OG Chess (prod. AGKeyz)

Houston links up for a track with no apparent name, but it doesn’t matter. Billyracxx’s energy is locked in and he delivers the perfect melody. With his recent single “Wonderland” and now this, I’m confident he is on the brink of blowing up. OG Chess offers a simple verse over the spacey AGKeyz production but it’s all he needs to do, Billyracxx kills this. It’s a perfect way to start off Ascension.

GuapOut – TRAE CANE (prod. Steelo Foreign)

One of the hottest artist/producer combos in Texas drops another heater with “GuapOut”. The SWIDLIFE exclusive is produced by the talented Steelo Foreign, and the beat continues the astral synth theme that is noticeable throughout the mixtape. “GuapOut” is Trae at his most braggadocios, and he doesn’t slow down. The motivational hustler music that has made TRAE CANE so popular should have everybody trying to bring the guap out.

The Colour Black – XansoleauX (prod. XansoleauX)

My favorite track on the tape comes from a San Antonio artist by the name of XansoleauX. Self produced, the beat is so intricate and haunting, at first I thought it was just an instrumental track. It sets the tone for the darkness of Xan’s verse when he comes in. Full of energy, I’m praying we get a creative visual for this one.  The producer can sing and rap, and we all know how successful that combination can be. I’m excited to hear more from XansoleauX.

**HONORABLE MENTION** Elixir – Anthony Rogers (prod. Mayeniac, Bricc Flair, and Sonorous)

The last song of the mixtape goes out with a bang. “Elixir” is an autotune-laced record you could hear on a Future x The Weekend collaboration. Rogers makes it seem easy, even when switching up his flow mid verse he stays on point. I don’t know much about Anthony Rodgers quite yet, but if Elixir is a promise for what’s to come I expect huge things from the Pennsylvania rapper/producer.
